Rise Up As Eagles

But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.”  Isaiah 40:31

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7

This written Word of God encourages us because we don’t rely on our own striving and strength but the Lord’s which we can access through waiting upon Him.

Waiting upon God is spending time in His Presence, in His love. He renews and restores our body, heart and mind so that we can rise up and not be weary or faint. He equips us with ‘love, power and a sound mind’. Spending time in His Presence is to live in Him and in His ways. We need to keep our eyes on God and be alert and watching to the winds and to the schemes and trickery of the devil.

The eagle in this painting is flying higher with God and looks around so as not to be unwise or unaware of the enemies schemes. This is a good thing and requires staying close to God while using discernment. Our struggle is that we take our eyes of God and focus too much on the enemy.
